vintage bay sun suit knitting pattern 1930s

BW13-Sun Suit: Great vintage baby knitting pattern for sun suit from 1940s. This lovely little suit has cable trim and is knitted in modern 4ply, always work a tension square and should fit a 22 inch chest. Can also be used over jumper or shirt as a romper. These are really sweet, my brother used to wear this sort of thing in the 1950s, in the summer.

vintage baby dress knitting pattern 1930s BW30-Dress: Great vintage baby knitting pattern for dress from 1940s. This little dress is knitted in modern 4ply, always work a tension square, to fit 20 inch chest and is 16 inches long. The lace panel is so pretty and although this pattern was in a 1940s booklet I have 1930s pattern with the exact same pattern in so it is older than you think. To fit 6-12 months. These pretty dress look so beautiful on modern babies, this on could be lengthened ad used as Christening robe, but allow extra wool for this option.

baby bonnet knitting pattern from 1920 Chrissie 29-Bonnet set- 1: Great vintage baby pattern from the 1920s. These sweet, simple to knit little head warmers are knitted in 4ply trimmed with rabbit wool (angora) and should fit 3-6 months. The acorns tassels are crocheted, but you could make pom-poms or ordinary tassels if preferred.

There isn't a tension guide, but you can work a square and see if your knitting will give an 18 inch chest, if you would rather a little larger use a size larger needles and allow another ball of wool. The Jacket fits 1-4 months, but has a dolmen style so should fit well into 6 months to match the dress. The smocked on on the front, a double breasted and a checker patterned. All knitted in 4ply to fit 19-20 inch chest over clothes. Always work a tension square.

vintage mother and baby bed jacket knitting pattern 1940s MR2-Bed Jackets: Great vintage baby and mother knitting pattern from late 1940s. This pattern is for a Bed jacket for mother and a sweet little one for baby who needs feed in the early hours of the morning keeping both mother and baby warm and cosy. Knitted in a soft wool that should knit well to size in either 3ply or 4ply with an adjustment of needle size. To fit medium on mother and up to 22 inch chest for baby knitted in 3ply, try a size smaller needles or a lovely 2ply for baby a size smaller. I love the sleeve shape on this little jacket.

vintage baby shawl knitting pattern MR6-Shawl: Great vintage baby shawl knitting pattern from late 1940s. This is a familiar pattern to many, but I decided to include it here as a reminder of all the lovely shawl pattern I have on my shawl pages. Click here to got to pages. This one has a feather stitch border and a pretty lacy centre and edging. 46 inches square knitted in 3ply on size 8 (4mm) needles to make it light and airy so it drapes well and keeps baby warm.

A cable needle needed for the trim and double crochet round edges to form picot trim. Very pretty. It can be daunting to use fine wool and needles but the effort is well worth the stunning results

It is worked in stocking stitch with moss stitch border and simple embroidery. Knitted in 3ply wool to fit 22 inch chest and 17 inches long. The little bolero is also 22 inch chest. It can be daunting to use fine wool and needles but the effort is well worth the stunning results.
