Patons 266L: Great vintage ladies twin set knitting pattern from 1940s. This is a super pattern with lots of possibilities. There are instructions for long or short sleeve jumper and a cardigan in the same pattern or in stocking stitch. To fit 38-40 inch bust and knitted in vintage 3ply, so try modern 4ply. Patons 509L: Great vintage ladies twin set knitting pattern from late 1940s. This useful jumper and cardigan is very easy to knit, the stripe jumper is in wide rib and cardigan in stocking stitch with stripes in the ribbing. To fit 34, 36 and 38 inch bust. Try modern 3ply in a tension square. There are several firms that now do a 3ply in adult colours including BSK mills in the UK.

Patons 539-3d: Great vintage ladies jumper knitting pattern from late 1940s. Strangely this one is the same number but a different pattern and printed earlier in 1940's.   A lovely pattern light weight twin set in fair isle fingering, probably equivalent to modern 4ply - try tension square. To fit 34-36 inch bust.

Patons 719a: The great wartime classic - twin set, simple and easy to knit and great to wear with anything for any occasion. Any design could be knitted into this simple pattern. This one is for vintage 3ply, so modern 4ply would work well, but work a tension square first to see if you need to adjust needles size. If you knit a patter, such as basket stitch, cables etc allow more wool.  To fit 35-37 inches. This is a small wartime leaflet. Patons 929L: Great vintage knitting pattern for lacy panel twinset, two garments for the price of one, always a bargain. 1940s wartime pattern. Knitted in vintage 2ply so try modern 3ply in a tension square, nice easy pattern to suit all ages. 36" bust, to alter size use larger or smaller needles of thicker wool. Allow more wool for larger sizes and if using thicker wool. Always allow a little extra with these vintage patterns. The cardigan measures 38" bust. small size wartime issue.

Patons 2780L: Great vintage ladies knitting pattern for twin set from the late 1930s. These patterns perpetuated during the war years as it was often expensive to make new patterns, paper and models were a shortage and knitters were just happy to get patterns. This one is for twin set, the cardigan being plain stocking stitch with deep V and a pretty, deep rib, short sleeved jumper. Knitted in a modern 4ply to fit 35-36 inch bust.  Always work a tension square and change needles if needed.

Sentinel 486: Great vintage knitting pattern from the 1930's for a classic cardigan and jumper set. Knitted in vintage 3ply so will be modern 4ply. The jumper has short sleeves and an interesting tab detail at the square neckline. to fit 32" bust so up the size of needles or knit in double knitting to get a bigger size, but don't for get to get extra wool. The leaf pattern is easy to knit, this smart little set is so very retro, great for murder mystery weekends if you are an Agatha Christie fan!

Sykes 621: Great vintage ladies 1930/40s knitting pattern for ladies twinset. This is a simple to knit, classic twinset to fit  34 inch bust in a vintage 3ply, so try modern 4ply in a tension square. Increasing from the rib up towards the arm hole is way these styles look so elegant and it so well. This one has an allover knit and purl design in blocks - very easy to do.

Templeton's 833: Great vintage ladies vintage twin set knitting pattern 1940s. This is a lovely retro pattern in a classic 1940s design. shaped into the waist to give elegant styling and with a couple of rows a little loopy ruffle at neck and hem of jumper and and pockets and cuffs of cardigan. Jumper has small zip at back of neck, but you can easily make it button or popper fastening. Note interesting bottom edge of cardigan!
