vintgage fitted jacket knitting pattern from 1940s Bestway 1192:  Vintage tailored jacket with short sleeves from late 1940s. This jacket is worked in double knitting, try tension square to see if you need to change needle size, instructions for short or long sleeves. This pattern uses two strands of vintage 4ply, as double knitting wool was not readily available at this time. To fit a 35-37 inch bust. It may well be that this thickness was more of an Aran. As average 4ply in the 1930's and 40's was similar to our double knitting. It is essential that you work a tension square. Tension is 13st to every 3" and 11 rows to every 2" worked on no 5 needles (5.5mm)
