vintage mens aran cable sweater Bairnswear 300: Great vintage men's knitting pattern for cable sweater in Aran style. This jumper is knitted in double knitting wool and should fit 40-42, 42-44, and 44-46 inch chest. Nice bold crisp cable but worked in a less bulky yarn than Aran. Always work a tension square.

Beau Regard 624: Great vintage Aran men's jumper knitting pattern. This is a really traditional Irish design - the bold trellis, unusual cables, not too chunky. Knitted in Aran to fit 38, 40 and 42 inch chest.

Both knitted in a chunky yarn that should knit to a tension of 6 stitches to 1.75 inches or I pattern and 9 rows to 2 inches on size 1 imperial or 7.5mm needles. The plain one is a tension of 7 stitches and 9 rows to 2 inches. Knitted in a Big Ben wool which is thicker than Aran, but not too thick a chunky wool. To fit 38-40 inch chest with raglan sleeves.
