Bestway 1246: Fabulous men's slipper pattern from the 1940's, although ready made soles are used, they can be home made from felt or crocheted or knitted or even cork can be used, or  ready made insoles. I do believe Coats, see links pages, still do them. , there are knitted  and crocheted designs in this pattern to fit sizes 8, 9, 10, 11 knitted in various yarn, always work a tension square to see if hook or needles need changing. Several of the patterns can be seen below. Sizes vary from 36-40 inch chest. all in vintage 3ply (modern 4ply ) except the cricket sweater  which is in double knitting wool. Always work a tension square.

Works well in 4ply cotton. Colours used in picture  listed as white, navy, smoky blue, cherry red. To fit size to fit 36"- 40" work in double knitting and size 8 imperial or 4mm  to get larger size. Sock pattern to match included. Great 1940's or 50's look for young man.

Red Heart 240-410: Great vintage easy fair isle from the USA 1947 knitted in vintage 3ply on 12 and 11 imperial or 3.50mm and 3mm to fit 36"-42" chest. Work tension square first(Gauge). More men’s fair isle on Mens Fair Isle pages. This one is quite easy and a great introduction. The colour used in the original are beige background with navy and cherry red for the design. So typical 1940's collage grad look.
